Description: "The year is 1979.
"All the hottest New York City A-Listers are putting on their platform shoes and polyester disco shirts and heading to the grand opening of Manhattan's first floating casino and discotheque.
"Little do they know that the new pier built to house the huge boat has been drilled into the epicenter of a dangerous and unstable faultline...
"'Disaster!' is a 1970's disaster movie musical, written by Seth Rudetsky and Jack Plotnick, featuring your favorite songs and disasters from the '70s.
"Yes, anything that can go wrong, DOES! Earthquake, tidal wave, infernos, killer bees, rats, sharks and piranhas all threaten the guests.
"Who will survive the disaster?
"The greedy tycoon? The aging showgirl and her 11-year-old twins? The washed-up disco star? The disaster expert still mourning the loss of his wife? The nun with the gambling addiction?
"And will the bra-burning feminist find love with the man who's lost his dreams....
"The best 70's Songs! The biggest 70's Disasters! DISASTER!" |

New Photos From Earthquake Disaster Movie Aftershock Starring Eli Roth |
| Reelz.com, February 14, 2012. "Back in November of 2010, writer-director-producer-actor Eli Roth (the Hostel movies) discussed one of the upcoming projects that he was producing — the action-thriller Aftershock, from Chilean director Nicolas Lopez (Santos) that was based on an actual 8.8 Richter scale earthquake that hit Chile in February of that same year. At the time, Roth said the earthquake, which caused a tsunami and claimed 480 lives, was 'terrifying enough' for the subject of a movie, and he may be right. SlashFilm has released the first bloody official images from the movie, which is currently in production. ..." |

Fantasy Island Season 2 on DVD May 8, 2012 |
It's about time the second season of much-loved 1970s cheese-fest "Fantasy Island" made it to DVD! This release, they tell me, will be "complete" — which means that, in addition to a non-stop parade of big, circa-1978 hairdos and the chance to intone "De plane! De plane!" along with Herve Villechaize every 48 minutes, you'll finally be able to re-view a number of Poseidoners traipse through their respective fantasies, including Red Buttons, Carol Lynley, Roddy McDowall, and Leslie Nielsen. Of course, that also means you'll have to put up with Hollywood punch lines like Sonny Bono, but your suffering should be compensated by a season that also features about half of "The Brady Bunch," too.
What took so long to put out FI2 is a mystery; the first season has been available on DVD since late 2005!
The first season, by the way, is well worth owning; it includes the TV-movie/pilot episode, in which Carol had the honor of starring — and also had the "honor" of getting sued (along with Aaron Spelling and Twentieth Century-Fox) by co-star Peter Lawford, who ever since struck me as a total jerk. It also includes the second TV-movie, Return to Fantasy Island, and in the episode "Lady of the Evening," Carol's back as a high-class call girl (!), while the rest of the season offers us the usual parade of TV stars, plus Leslie Nielsen, and even Jim Galante, one of the engineers in the first engine-room scene in TPA.
